Product Description
Control panels are engineered to start, monitor, control, and protect pumpsets used for underground and surface water pumping systems. During startup, motors can draw 6–8 times their rated current, causing significant voltage drops and generating high torque that stresses the mechanical components. To avoid failures and ensure smooth pump operation, it becomes essential to limit these initial current surges. Since permissible starting-current values depend on network load capacity, a well-designed control panel is crucial for safeguarding the entire setup.
Understanding these challenges, Tormac has designed panels that minimize starting currents while ensuring full protection against electrical and mechanical faults. The panels continuously monitor the motor, shielding it from faulty current, voltage fluctuations, and application failures. By regulating high inrush currents and stabilizing motor function, they extend pump life, reduce downtime, and ensure trouble-free performance across varying field conditions.
Tormac control panels are available in multiple configurations with key specifications such as HP range from 0.5 HP to 2 HP, Starting Capacitor values from 60/80 µF to 200/250 µF, Running Capacitors from 25 µF to 45 µF, and MCB ratings from 6A to 16A. For example, 1.0 HP panels use 100/120 µF starting and 25–40 µF running capacitors with a 10A MCB, while 2.0 HP units operate with 200/250 µF starting capacitors, 40 µF running capacitors, and a 16A MCB. These specifications ensure that every pump runs at peak efficiency with complete electrical protection.
